Welcome to the Takoma Park Middle School Ski and Snowboarding Club web page. We are club that provides the opportunity for students and alumni of Takoma Park Middle School to participate in a number of excursions to local ski resorts. We currently have 90 members and have aspirations to serve 140 members during the 2011 ski season. Unfortunately we are no longer accepting registrations for the 2010 ski season but will open registration for the 2011 ski season on September 1. Interested persons will be able to register online and/or request information via this web page.

What makes our program unique is that one of the requirements for participants is to raise money for local and/or national charities. This year our participants have been requested to raise money for Special Olympics. We hope to give the Maryland Special Olympics a check for $10,000 at the end of the ski season. Our hope is that activities such as this will encourage others to give a little back to those who maybe less fortunate. |

We are sponsored by two non-profit organizations: Difference Makers and Jr. Civitan International. These organizations promote citizenship, leadership, and scholarship. Difference Makers is a student run non-profit organization founded in 2009. It is currently housed and run by students at Takoma Park Middle School. They currently are integrated with the Jr. Civitan program at Takoma Park Middle School. This organization at Takoma Park Middle School has raised over $20,000 for local and national charities during the past five years. Students also participate in local events that promote student scholarship, leadership, and citizenship. TOUCH A LIFE! MAKE A DIFFERENCE! |
